Legacy Giving.
Including Goats of Anarchy in your estate plans is a meaningful way to help us help animals for decades to come.
Anyone can leave a legacy.
Philanthropy makes the life-saving work of Goats of Anarchy possible. You can help secure the future for our animals by including us in your estate plans. There are several easy ways to provide for your loved ones and help GOA.
Let us know about your gift plan by completing this form to ensure that we understand your wishes and that we can welcome you into the GOA Guardians Legacy Society!
Benefits to Joining the Goats of Anarchy Legacy Society:
An honorary sponsorship of animal of choice (receiving updates and cards in the mail a few times a year)
An annual invitation to visit the sanctuary for a personal tour
A quarterly newsletter with exclusive updates
Bequests.
A bequest is a gift anyone can afford and offers many options for leaving a meaningful gift that has no immediate impact on your resources and that allows you to change your mind at any time. You can specify an amount of money or a percentage of your estate to leave to GOA.
Legal Language
Should you choose to include GOA in your estate plans, please use the legal name (Goats of Anarchy, Inc.), the legal address (10 Lower West Street, Box 453, Annandale, NJ 08801), and the Federal Tax ID number (81-2325062).
To leave a specific dollar amount to GOA:
"I give twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to Goats of Anarchy, Inc. in Annandale, New Jersey."
To leave a percentage of the estate to GOA:
"I give ten percent (10%) of my estate to Goats of Anarchy, Inc. in Annandale, New Jersey.”
To leave all or a portion of the estate remainder:
"I give to Goats of Anarchy, Inc, in Annandale, New Jersey, all (or a portion of) the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for the general purposes of Goats of Anarchy."

Beneficiary Designations.
Retirement Plan:
Your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other Qualified Retirement Plan can provide a tax-smart way to make an impact for GOA now and when your estate is realized.
You can designate GOA as the recipient of some or of all your remaining Qualified Retirement Plan assets at the end of your lifetime. Your estate is entitled to an unlimited estate tax charitable deduction for the value of the assets donated to us, and since we are tax-exempt, we will pay no income tax on the distribution.
The Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD (sometimes called an “IRA Charitable Rollover”) is a great way to make a tax-free gift now to us and also satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).You must be at least 70½ years old and your QCD must go directly from your IRA administrator to GOA. If you are age 72 and must take a Required Minimum Distribution(RMD), your QCD gift can satisfy your RMD without increasing your income taxes.
Making a charitable gift from your retirement plan is easy and should not cost you attorney fees. Simply request a “change of beneficiary” form from your plan administrator, return it to them and and notify GOA.
Life Insurance Policy:
You can also name GOA as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy and specify that we receive some or all of your policy’s death benefit. This allows you to change your mind should your circumstances change; because your gift is revocable, you won’t receive an income tax charitable deduction for your gifts, but your estate will receive an estate tax deduction for the amount your policy distributes to us.
Should you leave a fully-funded policy to GOA, there will be no immediate cost to you, but you will receive an immediate income tax charitable deduction for the value of your policy (or the total premiums you have paid, whichever is less) and an additional income tax deduction if you continue to pay premiums.
It’s easy to designate GOA as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Simply contact your insurance agent to make a change in your policy’s beneficiary designation and let us know.
A GOA volunteer and member of Patreon, Susan chose to maximize her support by making us the beneficiary of one of her retirement accounts. "It was so easy to do, and costs me nothing out-of-pocket," she said. "This way I can do as much as possible, both now and in the future. It's a vote of confidence in GOA as well as support for the animals, and I am so happy to provide both."
